History of Ball valves Manufacturers: -
The valve invented by John Warren in 1871 was the first example of anything similar to the ball-type valve. His valve was a metal-seated valve with brass balls and benches.  Warren eventually gave John Chapman, the CEO of Chapman Valves, the patent for his brass ball valve concept.

During World War Two, the ball valve, also known as the spherical plug valve, was eventually put to use. Engineers developed it during this period for use in military aircraft fuel systems. Engineers adapted ball valves for industrial applications after their experience with ball valves during World war ii.

Features of Ball Valves Manufacturers: -
The human body acts as a pressure vessel. It's where the flow control elements, like the puck, are held. It's also how operators attach several pieces of tubing or pipe together.

Seats are circular discs that serve to hold the body and the ball in contact.

A shaft is a stem. It connects the ball to the outside of the valve, allowing it to spin.

A gadget such as a lever handle serves as the actuator, also known as the operator. To rotate the valve stem, the valve and actuator operate together. The valve is open when the handle is flat in alignment, and locked when the handle is perpendicular to the surface.

Advantages of Ball Valves Manufacturers: -

Ball valves are widely used for a variety of purposes. For starters, they're famous because they come in a variety of materials. Second, ball valves are common because they are simple to maintain. Ball valves are mostly self-cleaning since the seat wipes itself while the ball rotates, essentially avoiding any buildup.

They often take no repair and do not hold internal debris because they have no internal parts. Instead, they're tightly regulated and resistant to blowouts. They're very simple to keep track of. Ball valves, on the other hand, are highly flexible, and consumers may use them for a wide variety of applications. Finally, ball valves are both economical and dependable.

Ball Valves Manufacturers:

A Ball Valve is a form of quarter-turn valve which uses a hollow, perforated, and pivoting Ball to control flow through it. It is open when the ball's hole is in line with the flow and closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees by the valve handle. The handle lies flat in alignment with the flow when open, and is perpendicular to it when closed, making for easy visual confirmation of the valve's status.

Characteristics of Ball Valves:

Ball Valves are hard-wearing, performing well after many cycles, and reliable, closing securely even after long periods of disuse. These qualities make them an excellent choice for shutoff and control applications, where they are often preferred to gates and Globe Valves, but they lack their fine control in throttling applications.

Uses of Ball Valves:

Ball valve's ease of operation, repair, and adaptability lend it to extensive industrial use, withstanding pressures up to 1000 bar and temperatures up to 752 °F (400 °C), depending on the design and raw materials used. Sizes typically range from 0.2 to 48 inches (0.5 cm to 121 cm). Valve bodies are made of metal, plastic, or metal with a ceramic; floating balls are often chrome plated for durability. One disadvantage of a Ball valve is that they trap water in the centre cavity while in the closed position.

In cold climates, the sides can crack due to the expansion of ice forming. Some means of insulation or heat tape in this situation will usually prevent damage. Another option for this situation is the "freeze tolerant Ball valve". This style of Ball valve incorporates a freeze plug in the side so in the event of a freeze-up, the freeze plug ruptures (acts as a sacrificial disk), thus making for an easy repair. Now instead of replacing the whole valve, just screw in a new freeze plug.

Materials use in Ball Valves Manufacturing

  • Bronze (CAC401, CAC406)
  • Brass (C3771)
  • Gray cast iron (FC200, FC300)
  • Ductile iron castings (FCD-S)
  • Carbon steel castings for high temperature/pressure service (SCPH 2)
  • Stainless steel castings (SCS13A, SCS14A)

VALVES | FUNCTIONS, TYPES, ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES

What are Valves?

Valves is a mechanical Device which helps in controlling and changing the direction of Flow coming from a Piping Component. Different types of Valves are used as per their functions and needs. Some Valves are Self Operated while some require Manual Operations. Being an essential Component of Piping Systems, Valves comprises of Different types which include gate Valves, Globe Valves, Ball Valves, Butterfly Valves, Check Valves, etc.
FUNCTIONS of A VALVES:

·         Used for Stopping and Starting the Flow
·         Helps in Increasing or Reducing a Flow of Fluid.
·         Controls the Direction of Flow Coming from a Particular Direction

Globe Valves: Globe Valves are among the most popular types of valves used in various Industries. Gate Valves is used to control the flow in pipeline and adjust the Gaps Between the Globe Shaped Plug and the Ring Seat. Globe Valve doesn’t Leak much as Compared to other valves. This Valves consists of a movable disk-type element and a stationary ring seat in a generally spherical body. There are two types of Globe Valves shaped Plug which is used for Low Pressure Flow and Plug and Cage valves is used o Control the Flow. There is an Extra hole in the plug to Control the Flow.

Advantages of Globe valves:

·         The opening-closing time is shorter.
·         Body ring seating surface process is easier.
·         They contain positive shut-off

Disadvantages of Globe Valves:

·         Higher Flow Pressure and to close globe valves under high pressure, it requires a larger amount of force or an actuator with a large torque

More About Globe Valves

Butterfly Valves: Butterfly Valves is a simple piping system which has a rotating disc Rotating across the Flow. Butterfly Valves are designed to regulate flow with limited control capability. Butterfly valves are operated easily by rotating the handle at 90 degrees and can be operated both Automatically and manually. It consists of a metal disc in the body of the valve which is positioned perpendicular to the flow in the closed position. These valves can be operated by handles, gears or actuators according to specific needs.

Advantages of Butterfly Valves:
• This Valve requires very little maintenance.
• They have the capability to throttle flow
•. Butterfly valves are very accurate
• They can be installed or removed without pipe system dislocation

Disadvantages of Butterfly Valves:
• Butterfly valves have no tight shut offs

More About Butterfly Valves

Ball Valves: Ball Valves as the Name Suggests, uses a ball to control the flow of Elements from one end to another. They are Versatile and offer better Sealing. Ball Valve is Similar to Butterfly Valve, the difference is only the Shape of Rotating plugs. Ball Valves is in a Spherical form and has a hole drilled in it. These valves are in high demand in the industrial Sectors because of their reliable and air-tight sealing when in the closed position.

Advantages of Ball Valves:
• They has low-maintenance
• They are cost-effective among all of the valves
• Ball Valves provides leak-proof service.
• They open and close quickly.

Disadvantages of Ball Valves:
• Ball valves are not suitable for permanent throttling.
More About Ball Valves

Check valves: Also Known as non-return valves, Check valves allows the flow of Fluid in a single Direction and prevents Back flow in the Reverse Direction. A check valves will not control the flow but it will control he direction and prevents the Flow in the Opposite Direction.

Advantages of Check Valves:

• Check valves prevent backflow
• They can sustain pressure
• Check valves serve as backup system

Disadvantages of Check Valves:

• While closing with check valves, elements may crash causing damage
